Annual day is celebrated for every two years which is an integral part of all the activities. Every Annual day will be graced by the Eminent Educationalist and an Eye – Catching Celebrities as Distinguished-guests. It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast & festivity where students perform wonderfully with their cultural activities and receive prizes for their Academic Excellence in Academics Games and sports, curricular & co-curricular activities.
Traditional day is an eventful day, it is a day where everyone comes in an traditional attire of their home state or any culture of their choice .It’s a day designated to inoculate ethical, traditional & cultural values in the minds of students. It is celebrated on a specified day in every year.
Vaagdevi degree and PG College celebrates national festivals with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The chief guest unfurls the national flag as it gets saluted by the whole gathering with national anthem. The speeches given by chief guest and other dignitaries on the dais help in nurturing the feeling of national integration and patriotism among young generation. It will be followed by specially trained parade’s and performances of NCC cadets and NSS volunteers. The celebration ends with sweet distribution to all the gathering.
Every year Vaagdevi Degree and PG College celebrates ‘GaneshChathurthi’ in the campus. For nine days students and faculty members celebrate the festival with great gaiety and grandeur. The entire faculty and student community devote a lot of time in the devoration and organize the event ight from the “Arti” to “Naivedyam”. The days of the event will be divided between the departments. It will bea great celebration with any literary and cultural competitions. After “Navarathri” the idol will be immersed with immense festive spirit among all. The Ganesh chathurthi celebrations has been going on since from the inception of the college with the support of management, administration, teaching and non-teaching staff backed by strong student community.
Bathukamma is a floral festival which represents cultural spirit of Telangana. It is the festival of feminine felicitation celebrated every year in the college where all the girl students, female faculty and non-teaching staff participate with flashing outfits accompanied by boys students and male faculty in ethnic wear.
SriKrishna Janmastami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna who is considered as Lord Vishnu’s incarnation. One most important activity during Janmastami is ‘Dahi Handi’ which means ‘Curd in earthen pot’. Students, faculty, administration and management actively participate in ‘Dahi Handi’
National Science Day is celebrated on 28 February every year to commemorate the Great Scientist Sir C.V. Raman on his discovery “Raman Effect” .He was later awarded Nobel Prize for his contribution.
On this occasion the theme of the events conducted this year is “women in Science” to popularize Science among women .This day is celebrated as a “ Science Carnival” for the students of not only our college but also from the different colleges. The main objective is to bring awareness among the students of the region about the importance of science and their applications and create a scientific temperament by popularizing science .This will allow the young generation of students to display their inherent capabilities and harness them in the field of science. Their greatest contribution to the nation would be by innovation we here by are providing their platform for harnessing this ‘Genius’ in them.
