Department of Physics and Electronics

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Physics & Electronics, a center of scientific learning and innovation committed to academic excellence and holistic development.

Established in 1993, the department has steadily grown by offering well-structured programmes in core areas of Physics and Electronics, aligned with the evolving needs of science and technology.

With a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding and practical application, we strive to equip students with analytical thinking, experimental skills, and a scientific temperament essential for success in diverse professional domains.

Our department is supported by a team of dedicated faculty members who adopt ICT-enabled, research-driven, and student-centric teaching methodologies. Through seminars, workshops, industrial visits, mini-projects, and hands-on learning experiences, we bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.

About the Department

Since its founding in 1993, the Department of Physics & Electronics has functioned as a hub for academic achievement in the fields of Physics and Electronics. With a strong dedication to academic advancement, scientific innovation, and career-oriented learning, the department actively participates in providing high-quality education to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The M.Sc. Physics programme with specialization in Electronics was introduced in 2006 and offers students advanced theoretical understanding along with practical exposure in modern Physics and Electronic Sciences.

The department is supported by a team of highly qualified, experienced, and motivated faculty members who continuously strive to promote scientific temper and research-oriented education among students.

The department takes pride in being the first college under Kakatiya University to introduce simulation-based teaching and laboratory methods, enabling students to strengthen conceptual understanding through simulation software, computational tools, and virtual experiments.

Every academic year, the department successfully graduates more than 300 students, many of whom contribute significantly to society through careers in public sector organizations, industries, research institutions, and teaching professions.

The department maintains a strong academic environment through seminars, workshops, guest lectures, industrial visits, value-added programmes, and hands-on learning activities that support the holistic development of students.

To promote competitive excellence, the department actively encourages students to prepare for national-level examinations and provides specialized coaching and mentoring for CSIR-NET, UGC-NET, and other competitive examinations.

The department is proud of its distinguished alumni who hold responsible positions in prestigious organizations such as ONGC, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), and several reputed government and private sector companies.

With strong alumni support, industry interaction, and active research initiatives in areas like Nuclear Radiation Physics and Nanomaterials, the department continues its commitment toward academic excellence, research advancement, and societal development by nurturing competent, responsible, and research-oriented graduates.
